Tang Yun (1910-1993), Banana Leaves and White Geese, Hanging Scroll. Height: 96 cm (37.80 in); Width: 36 cm (14.17 in). This is an original-mounted free-hand flower-and-bird hanging scroll by Tang Yun on paper. Large plantain leaves are rendered with unrestrained and expressive ink-wash, alongside blooming flowers. Rocks and moss are dotted with light ink. The central white-goose figure is vividly depicted with light-colored washes for feathers and bold bright colors for its beak and webbed feet. Running-script inscription appears on the right, together with two red-ink seals. Executed in representative Shanghai-school style, the work bears elegant literati charm. Original silk mounting is intact and in good condition.
