Huang Zhou (1925-1997), A Group of Geese, Hanging Scroll. Height: 68 cm (26.77 in); Width: 32 cm (12.60 in). This is a colour-ink flower-and-bird hanging scroll on paper with original mounting. Multiple geese swim on water surface. The geese are vividly depicted with striking red beaks. Their feathers are rendered in concise free-hand brushwork with varied lively postures. Reeds by the water are painted with bold, unrestrained ink strokes. Light ink washes suggest rippling water, creating a lively watery-scene atmosphere. Running-script inscription is located at lower-left corner, together with two red-coloured artist seals. The painting features unrestrained brush-and-ink technique, representing a fine free-style flower-and-bird work by Huang Zhou.
