This refined landscape album is the work of Pu Ru. The eight leaves depict varied scenes of mountains and springs: pavilions beside streams, autumn woods with distant hills, travellers in secluded valleys, mountain temples with pagodas, and snowy mountain ravines. Mountains are outlined with crisp, succinct lines supplemented by short texture strokes, embodying delicate and elegant brushwork. Trees are rendered with lively dotting and washes, accented with pale ochre and light cyan tones. Each leaf bears the artist's poetic inscriptions and seals, integrating poetry, calligraphy and painting. The compositions alternate between high-distance and flat-distance perspectives, conveying quiet and ethereal mood, characteristic of Pu Ru's elegant Northern-school landscape style. The album retains its original wooden binding boards with old collection labels, in good condition.
