The silk depicts mountains after snowfall. Towering cliffs are covered with snow, rendered by reserved blank space. Bare trees grow on snow slopes, a cottage hidden in woods and stream under snow. The brushwork inherits the strength of Northern School landscape. Dry strokes draw winter trees, light ink washes model mountain forms. The scene is serene and quiet, capturing the tranquil wilderness after snow. In original old mounting, the silk bears natural aged tone.
