Description
• Just 11,779 km from new
• Stunning Argento Nürburgring over Blu Scuro
• A truly exceptional grand tourer, fitted with Ferrari’s F-1 style transmission
At first glance, it would take a connoisseur to distinguish between the Ferrari 575M and its predecessor, the 550 Maranello. However, under the elegant Pininfarina bodywork, differences were significant. Changes included enlargement of the engine from 5.5 to 5.75 litres and the additional option of a six-speed F1-style transmission – a first for a V-12 Ferrari. The resulting increase in power and peak torque to 508 bhp and 434 foot-pounds brought a top speed in excess of 200 mph, after a sprint to 60 mph to just 4.1 seconds.
Nearly every element of the 550 was improved for the 575. New active dampers were fitted to improve handling; the body aerodynamics were tweaked to reduce drag; the headlamps were redesigned to feature xenon projector lenses for low beam; and even the cockpit and instrument binnacle were thoroughly modernized, all in the pursuit of creating the ultimate GT berlinetta.
Delivered new to Italy in 2002, it was tastefully ordered in Argento Nürburgring, complimented by Blu Scuro leather interior and navy blue carpets. Its current owner acquired the car in March 2012, when it had covered 7,100 km, and it has since covered a further 4,700 km, now showing just 11,779 km. The car has always been serviced according to schedule, and a comprehensive appraisal was carried out in December 2015 at 11,586 km, which found it to be in good condition mechanically and aesthetically throughout.
