Description
• Presented in its wonderful original livery or Silver Blue over Dark Blue
• Recipient of a NCRS Second Flight Award in the Preservation Class
• Exceedingly rare in Europe
The second generation of ‘America’s Sports Car’, the new-for-1963 Corvette rode on a thoroughly redesigned chassis that had Corvette’s first four-wheel independent suspension. It was the first-ever production Corvette coupé and can be immediately recognised by its split rear window. Whilst the basic design of the coupé would last until 1967, the ‘Split-Window’ would not, and it is the signature feature of closed 1963 Corvettes.
Imported to Europe in 2014, this Corvette previously spent three decades in Washington before crossing the Atlantic. Finished in Silver Blue over Dark Blue vinyl, it is equipped with the 327-cu. in., 300-bhp V-8 and mated to the Powerglide automatic transmission, making for effortless cruising. Further equipped with power windows, it boasts all the proper 1963 details and trim pieces.
Iconic cars such as this stunning Split-Window are often well cared for by their enthusiastic owners, and this car is no exception. This Corvette is offered complete with an owner’s manual, radio instructions, previous ownership and shipping documentation, as well as maintenance invoices spanning several years. It is also sold with a Second Flight Award from the National Corvette Restorers society, awarded in the Restoration and Preservation Class in 2002, highlighting its originality.
A sleek, highly desirable sports car, rarely seen on European roads, it would be a distinctive addition to any collection as one of Chevrolet’s most stylistic and iconic automobiles.
