919. Screen-used Hunter/Killer Tank from The Terminator. (Orion, 1984) The Hunter Killer or "HK" series of anti-personnel combat units were the simplest and most numerous of the various combat oriented Machines designed by SKYNET to wipe out the human race. This 1/6th-scale Hunter/Killer Tank was built by Gene Warren, Jr. and his crew at Fantasy II Film Effects for the "Future War" sequences in the first groundbreaking Terminator film directed by James Cameron. This HK Tank is created of steel, aluminum, fiberglass wood and resin and measures 51 in. long x 38 in. wide x 32 in. tall. The tank is mounted on four separate steel tracks each pivoting independently to conform to the terrain. It was originally powered by an electric motor geared to drive the tracks on-screen (motor has since been removed). The "head" can be positioned from side to side and the two gun turrets can be individually positioned for pitch and yaw. This is the only hero HK Tank made for the film (a dummy version was built and destroyed in an explosion sequence), so this is the only surviving HK Tank from this groundbreaking film. Comes with a letter of authenticity from Academy Award-winning visual effects wizard, Gene Warren, Jr. $30,000 - $50,000
