SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West (SMoW) is now hosting a remarkable exhibition celebrating the life and works of photographer-ethnographer Edward Curtis, titled Light and Legacy: The Art and Techniques of Edward S. Curtis. It opened on October 19, 2021 and will run through April 30, 2023.

GLEN COVE, N.Y. – Roland Auctions NY kicked off the New Year in style. The company’s January 1 sale turned out to be its highest-grossing single-day, and highest-grossing per lot, auction of the past year. The auction lineup featured selections from multiple estates with a spotlight on the collection of a socialite from European nobility who had properties at The Pierre Hotel in Manhattan and in Lloyd Harbor, Long Island. The collection offered everything from Louis XIV to mid-century Modern, along with art, silver, jewelry and decorative items.

From designer handbags to despatch boxes, vanity cases to military rucksacks, the exhibition explores our longstanding fascination with the bag. The show opened at the V&A in fall of 202o and has been extended multiple times, but it looks set to end on January 16, 2022.
