ALBERTA, Canada – The 1992 film Unforgiven, directed by and starring Clint Eastwood, was one of the most critically acclaimed Westerns of its decade. The set of Unforgiven’s main town, Big Whiskey, has been fully preserved on a sprawling Alberta estate known as the Ranch at Fisher Creek, which also hosted Eastwood, Gene Hackman, Morgan Freeman and other stars during the filming of the movie. It is now listed for sale at $19.2 million, or $25.5 million in Canadian dollars.

Can objects have souls? Amsterdam show ponders the question

AMSTERDAM – The group exhibition When Things Are Beings, on view at the Stedelijk Museum through April 10, 2023, explores the inner forces of objects in many different ways. Each of the designers and artists who made the 24 projects in the exhibit takes their own path to linking the material and the immaterial worlds. Spanning 13 rooms, the works forge connections between ideas and objects, spirituality and materiality, and link social issues to tangible phenomena. All of them play with the question of whether “things” can have a soul, using a wide range of media: video, soundscape, textiles, assemblage, object design, jewelry, sculptures, photography, printing, painting and performance.

NEW YORK — LEGOs are one of a handful of toys still being made today that are lovingly passed from generation to generation. Although we have fully arrived in the digital age, where children are forever hunched over screens and mobile devices, it’s refreshing to see that a simple building toy based on plastic, snap-together bricks can still engage hands and imaginations.
