CHICAGO – Timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the publication of Josef Albers’ seminal The Interaction of Color, Hindman will present Color Theory, an auction focused on artists who investigated the transformative power of color. With nearly 100 lots, the auction, set for Friday, July 28, is a celebration of color in modern and contemporary printmaking, including works by Albers, Gene Davis, Ellsworth Kelly, Victor Vasarely, Robert Motherwell, Andy Warhol, Helen Frankenthaler, Anish Kapoor and Damien Hirst. A group of Patrick Heron prints sold to benefit the Acquisition Fund of the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields will also be offered. Chrysler Museum to show Paul McCartney’s own photos documenting Beatlemania

NORFOLK, Va. – The Chrysler Museum of Art will present Paul McCartney Photographs 1963-64: Eyes of the Storm from December 5 through April 7, 2024. Traveling from the National Portrait Gallery in London to Norfolk, the Chrysler Museum of Art will be the first venue in the United States to host this major exhibition, burnishing the Chrysler’s reputation as an institution committed to the presentation of the diverse histories of photography through exhibitions and the permanent collection.

NEW YORK — There are modernist painters, and then there is Edward “Ed” Clark (American, 1926-2019).
