WATCH HILL, R.I. – Ocean House paid homage to the beloved illustrator and author Ludwig Bemelmans on the 125th anniversary of his April 27, 1898 birthday with the addition of the Bemelmans Gallery and Bemelmans Suite to the luxury beachfront hotel located near Newport, Rhode Island.

Gifted to him in 1898 by his sister Corinne Roosevelt Robinson and engraved inside cover: ‘THEODORE ROOSEVELT’ and ‘From D.R. and C.R.R.’ Watch is referenced in detail in a thank-you letter published in Corinne Roosevelt Robinson’s 1924 book ‘My Brother Theodore Roosevelt.’ Estimate $100,000-$200,000
