Signed Mid 19C Calico Basket Quilt with History

Signed Mid 19th Century Hand Pieced Basket Quilt. The large madder brown and multi calico print basket pattern quilt dates from the 1860 to 1880's. Attached to the back of the quilt is a sewn on old paper card with an inscription in brown ink that reads; Mildred Saunders made before 1884, by Grandma. The quilt is signed in a corner in black thread, K.E.C. The quilt is in good condition with just a couple of light spots which could easily be cleaned, generally in the white areas of the quilt. Measures 100" x 95".
