Description
1937 Nash Ambassador. While Daryl Hemken was traveling on a national auto tour in 1979, he came across this 1937 Nash Ambassador in Minnesota. He wasted no time when he got home. He quickly returned to the Nash location and brought it back to his collection. This is a running, driving vehicle but the brakes need work or replacement. It has a 322ci twin-ignition overhead valve straight 8 engine, hydraulic brakes, and overdrive, which was very unusual in 1937. Nash began using the Ambassador name for its most luxurious models in 1927 and competed with the likes of Packard, Lincoln, and Duesenberg in the grand luxury category. In 1937 the Sinclair Oil Company sponsored a baseball contest with Babe Ruth where a 1937 Nash Ambassador Eight sedan was given away every week.
