This is another original 1950s Blackguard Telecaster Pickguard. This came off a early 1953 Blackguard Tele but can be on Blackguards from 1950 to mid 1954. The thickness of this pickguard is 1/16 inch. Made of phenolite fiber board, this pickguard is commonly referred to people as being made of Bakelite. On this pickguard the nitrocellulose lacquer used to spray the pickguard still has a very nice shine to it. There are some visible faded areas to the left and right of the string placement which looks really nice. The underside has somewhat faded but there are visible marks in the screw holes areas from contact with the body finish. Another beautiful pickguard perfect for anyones restoration project. This pickguard includes its original 5 phillips head .5 inch nickel plated screws, showing nice patina. Would make a great addition to any collection, shop or home.
