In 1982 Fender came up with the idea of recreating vintage guitars, otherwise known as American Vintage Reissues (AVRI). Between 1982 and 1984 they produced these guitars in their Fullerton, California shop using exact tooling and machinery methods that guitars were made in the 1950’s and 1960’s, every guitar was handmade. The Fullerton reissues are regarded as the best guitars Fender made since the 50’s and 60’s. This 1982 Fender Blackguard Telecaster 52 Reissue was made in Fullerton, CA. USA. SERIAL NUMBER: 3373. COLOR: Butterscotch Blonde Nitrocellulose Finish. WEIGHT: 7lbs 3ozs (3kg/260g). This Blackguard is in mint, unplayed condition, original strings are still on. 100% original, no modifications. This is the lightest and perfectly preserved Blackguard reissues the collector has ever owned. Spectacular Butterscotch Blonde Nitro finish. No dings, dents, scratches, or swirling. Body is showing minimal checking. Screws and strap buttons have an incredible light patina to them. All chrome hardware is in like new and shiny condition, no pitting whatsoever. Notice the finishing Dow hole impressions on the back of the body. Matching pot codes are stamped 1378209 denoting the CTS Co. manufacturer dating the 9th week of 1982. Bridge pickup reading of 6.07k hail the neck has a strong 6.66k read. Notice the original plastic wiring in the electronics cavity. This is because the guitar was made before Fender had implemented cloth wiring to their reissues. There is not one pick mark on the pickguard, in new condition. There are two finish checking marks on both sides of the neck cavity. Therefore, we will not be separating the body from the neck as we believe it is too risky, make that decision for yourself. The neck is in mint condition. Neck has a 7.25 radius, slim U shape profile. There is no fretware, no dings, dents, or scratches. Some gorgeous, light checking can be seen on the back of the headstock. Tuners have some light patina to them. This guitar is perfect in every way, as if you just came out of the Fender Dealers store 40 years ago. What this precious guitar includes original tweed case in mint vintage condition with keys, Certificate of Authenticity dated May 6, 1982, original hang tag, manual, warranty card, extra 6 saddle bridge, ashtray bridge cover, extra 1 Meg Pot and capacitor conversion kit (obviously never installed), guitar strap and cable. In addition to this spectacular package, we are including an original 1982 Fender catalog presenting the 52 reissue Blackguard Telecaster to the world. And Nacho Banos’s “The Blackguard Book”. This 412-page hardcover book is the encyclopedia of Blackguard Telecasters from 1950 to mid-1954. Each book made had its own serial number stamped on the front cover numbering 1-5500. The number on this copy matches this Fullerton Blackguard 52 Reissue 3373. The book is sealed and unopened and will stay this way until the new owner receives it.
