The collector received this 1982 Fender Blackguard Telecaster with the intention of restoring it but just didn’t have enough time. SERIAL NUMBER: unknown. COLOR: Butterscotch Blond Nitrocellulose Finish. WEIGHT: 8lbs 9ozs (3kg/890g). So, what is original and what is not? Original parts include the body, control plate, knobs, switch tip, strap buttons, pickguard, saddles, neck, tuners, neck plate and case. Additionally, all screws except the pickup height screws are also original. What is not original is the bridge plate, pots, switch, pickups, capacitor, jack, and jack cup. The body has some beautiful checking throughout and has the two dowel plugged holes on the back under the finish and cavity stamps denoting it was Fullerton made. The neck is completely original with a penciled date of 9-13-82. Neck has some nice faint flame and checking, very straight. Neck has a 5.25 radius, nice V shape profile. Frets have some wear but there is a good amount of life left. In an effort to complete this guitar we are including a set of USA made Fender OEM 52 Tele pickups, Fender OEM Pat. Pend. vintage reissue bridge with brass saddles, and cloth wiring. Really this is a nice restoration project to get this former Blackguard back to its playing glory. Included is the guitars original Tweed Ducks Foot case (some tears but overall good vintage condition), ashtray bridge cover and Fender 1982 catalog which introduced the 52 Blackguard Telecaster Reissues to the world .
