Item Details
Description
2000 Fender Masterbuilt Muddy Waters Telecaster. SERIAL NUM: 60 of 100. WEIGHT: 7lbs. 6.6 ounces (3kg/360g). COLOR: Candy Apple Red Nitrocellulose Finish. Here is an incredible guitar. This was Fender’s first ever attempt to match the specific details of an exact relic guitar used by a professional musician, The Muddy Waters Tribute Telecaster in 2000. Only 100 were made, and Masterbuilder John Cruz built every one of them. This one is # 60 of 100. Very nice lightweight Telecaster. Every attention to detail, every scratch, ding, and dent, the relicing, the finish wearing on the back of the neck, right down to the missing letters on the headstock decal are an exact reproduction of Muddy Waters actual 1960 Telecaster which is on display at the Rock-n-roll Hall of Fame. John and George Blanda went to the RRHF to spec out the guitar and took photos is every inch of the guitar to see how he was going to accomplish this project, and boy did he do it right. Beautiful reliced Candy Apple Red Nitro finish with unbelievable checking throughout the body. All hardware has been reliced, some light rusting to the screws, strap buttons and tuners with a beautiful light touch of patina to the rest of the chrome hardware. The neck is in excellent reliced condition, 9.5 radius with a beefy D shape and no fretware, frets have nice patina to them. The back of the neck has some nice, flamed attributes making it look fantastic. This guitar has rarely been played. The items that originally came with this guitar package is over the top. The original case and keys in like new condition. The blue film on the case latches is still present. Fender Certificate of Authenticity dated 10/11/00 and signed by Mike Eldred, Custom Shop Manager. Guitar strap, cable, lightly reliced ashtray bridge cover, unopened polishing cloth, manual, and Fender sticker. Now for the Muddy Waters Mojo. A Muddy Waters CD “The Lost Tapes, Muddy Waters” recorded live. Mojo cloth bag with Fender picks, metal slide bar and capo. A framed print of Muddy Water photos numbered 60/210 and hand signed by the actual photographer Raeburn Flerlage. Framed poster measures 26.25in x 17.25in. In celebration of Muddy Waters “The Mojo Man” contributions to rock-n-roll and the presentation of this Incredible run of 100 guitars, Fender held the Catalina Island Blues Festival 2000. The next two items were not included in the original package, but we are adding them. An original copy of Fender Frontline magazine, volume 27, celebrating Muddy and his music. And an original poster from the Catalina Island Blues Festival 2000 (measures 19in x 13.5in). The artwork on the poster was made by Pamelina H. This poster is hand signed in blue ink by Pamelina H. This unbelievable package will be a contribution to anyone’s collection. As always please see all photos for more detail. All items are looked over but not inspected further than with the naked eye.
