2001 Fender Muddy Waters Custom Telecaster. SERIAL NUM: MZ0204979. COLOR: Candy Apple Red. WEIGHT: 8lbs. 1.4 ounces (3kg/670g). The year is 2000, after the tremendous success of Fender making 100 reliced Muddy Waters Tribute Telecasters down to the scratch, they decided to make a regular run of non-distressed Muddy Waters Custom Telecasters. Fender Mexico was commissioned to do this project which went on from 2000 to 2009. This particularly early run Custom Telecaster is in excellent shape. Made in 09/2001. 100% original, no modifications, or changes. There are no dings or dents on the body whatsoever. Some minor swirling on the pickguard. Neck has a 9.5 radius with little to no fretware. Matching pot codes read “CTS 0111” denoting these were manufactured by the CTS Co. on the 11th week of 2001. Notice the amp volume and tone knobs, pretty cool. Neck plate with signed “Muddy Waters” is neat too. Normally this guitar would have a gig bag, but we decided to upgrade it to a 1960’s period correct brown tolex hard-shell case in terrific condition, keys included.
