Description
Passport issued to a young Czech boy named Herbert Leif[?], bearing a large red 'J' on the first page. The 'reisepass' was issued to 15-year-old Leif in Prague on December 29, 1939, and still bears his identification photograph. The following page that would contain his personal information is obscured by stains and paper loss yet still shows he was born in 1923. Page six and seven bear stamps granting him travel to Australia through the United Kingdom on March 31, 1939, and also a brief inscription notes 'Sailing from London on 28.4.39 on SS Maloja for Sydney. Hebert Leif accompanying Dr. Norbert Leif.' Finally, a stamp on page nine shows his arrival in Freemantle on May 30, 1939. Toning on the inside and scattered stains.
