A PUBLIC DEBT OF THE LATE REPUBLIC OF TEXAS DOCUMENT, AUSTIN, OCTOBER 31,1853, printed and manuscript ink on watermarked laid paper, No. 4495, Second Class "B," with two different relief seal seals, printed, "This is to certify, that J.G.H. Scott has, under the provisions of an act of the Legislature of the State of Texas, entitled, "An Act to extend the provisions of 'an act to provide for ascertaining the Debt of the Late Republic of Texas,'" approved February 7, 1853, filed with the Auditor and Comptroller, a claim for supplies furnished the Government in 1838 amounting to One hundred and twenty nine 63/100 Dollars..," signed by James B. Shaw, Comptroller, and John M. Swisher, Auditor, on October 31, 1853. 10" x 10 3/8" Provenance:
