Native American, Northwestern United States, Alaska, Inuit, Yupik, Inupiat (Inupiaq), ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. An interesting walrus ivory smoking pipe that comes apart into 2 pieces at the center of the stem via a tenon peg to stow for travel or cleaning. Lounging on the stem are a pair of walruses, the flared receptacle bowl, and mouthpiece at the opposite end. Along the sides are incised concentric circles and a yellow-brown patina covers each component of this wonderful ensemble! Size: 5" L x 0.5" W x 1" H (12.7 cm x 1.3 cm x 2.5 cm)
