Description
A Veracruz standing figure with elaborate regalia and a rectangular-shaped backrack frame with feathers. The figure holds a staff with a central round motif that is possibly meant to be a mirror. The loin cloth features a central mask attached to the front of the garment. The elaborate headdress includes three vertical shafts extending from the top of the head. Buff ceramic. Late Classic, 50 CE to 950 CE. Central Veracruz, Mexico. With mount: 24 1/2" x 12 1/4".Condition: Good, with multiple repaired breaks. Custom mount included.Provenance: From the Boeckman Collection. Dallas, Texas.
