Washington & Jefferson 3 Lang. Ship's Papers, Finest We Have Seen, Enormous Bold Signatures
1p partially printed document signed by George Washington, "Go: Washington", and Thomas Jefferson, "Th: Jefferson", 13" x 15.75", Boston, June 6, 1794. Countersigned by Benjamin Weld, Deputy Collector of the Customs. Two intact paper-covered seals. Archivally enclosed in acid-free housing, easily removed. Expertly silked on verso. Usual folds and splits, overall even toning, scattered foxing and minor soiling. What makes this document so spectacular are the huge, bold signatures of then-president Washington and future president Jefferson; Washington's measures nearly 4" in length and Jefferson's about 2.5". Accompanied by a brand new Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
A three-language ship's paper, printed in French, English, and Dutch, issued to "Benjamin Smith Junior master or commander of the Schooner called William of the burthen of 60 tons or thereabouts, lying at present in the port of Boston bound for Martinico and laden with Beef, Beans, Fish, Flour, Hoops..." This superb document is ready for display or framing and is worthy of the finest collection.
This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
