A sterling silver presentation tray engraved "Presented To Cadet Paul Bucha / 8 June 1965 / By Ladies Auxiliary / Army And Navy Union, USA / Dept of New York" - measures 14" diameter and weighs 27 troy oz. Very good condition. Paul William Bucha (born August 1, 1943), a West Point graduate, and an American Vietnam War veteran serving 1967-1970, was a recipient of the Medal of Honor for his leadership and bravery in combat in Phuoc Vinh in 1968 - President Nixon presented him the medal on May 14, 1970. In later years, he ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the House of Representatives from NY on the Republican ticket, and was also a foreign policy adviser to Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign.
