A lithographed view of Lincoln’s catafalque at the Columbus, Ohio funeral, the 9th city visited by Lincoln’s funeral train. The hearse is draped in mourning, pulled by a team of horses, and guarded by armed soldiers. Held at the Ohio Statehouse, seen here in the background, the late president’s body was laid in state and visited by more than 50,000 before continuing the journey to his final resting place in Springfield, Illinois.
