Description
CLOCK. 1st quarter 20th century. The case with molded arched cornice above a beveled glass panel door flanked by conjoined triple Corinthian columns on faceted brass bases on an un-adorned plinth. The brass filigree decorated face plate with moon phase dial in the arch above subsidiary dials for strike/silent running and for Westminster/Whittington/Oxford tunes. The silvered chapter ring with Arabic numerals, a silvered subsidiary seconds dial beneath the "12" over three winding apertures. The movement driven by three brass cylinder weights and a brass bob pendulum on a silvered shaft. The clock strikes and plays on 9 tubes. Clock is marked "WALTHAM CLOCK CO." on a plaque mounted to the face concealed by the doorframe when closed. SIZE: 7' 5" h x 27" w x 17" d. CONDITION: Case retains original untouched finish with natural, dark brown patina. Movement and dial are operable and original. Very good condition. (05-152/JJ). $3,000-4,000.
