Description
An Aaron Willard Boston tall case clock, primarily cherry wood case with white pine secondary wood. Arched bonnet, fretwork to crest with three plinth divisions supporting brass ball finials over a hinged and glazed arched door, each side flanked with fluted hood columns with brass terminations, over a slender rectangular trunk with solid wood hinged door, each side flanked by matching fluted quarter columns with brass terminations, sitting on a moulded rectangular base with bracket feet joined by a curved skirt. The painted iron dial with C-and S-scrolls at the arch and corner spandrels, outer minute and hour track with black Roman and Arabic numbers, sub-seconds at the 12-o'clock, black hands, two wind-apertures, signed in black script: "Aaron Willard / Boston", attached to a two weight drive time and strike movement with anchor escapement. 92 3/4" h x 18 1/2" W x 10 1/4" D. American, Circa 1800. Included: two weights, pendulum & winding key.

Condition
Overall good condition. Winds, sets, runs and stops. Needs service. Case with professional repairs to wooden hinge point areas and lock area, replaced lock, older surface refinish to case, some minor separations to wood, light surface scratches and abrasion. Dial: Light and even crazing to surface with even oxidation. Even surface grime with accumulation to edges. UV light inspection shows clean and even florescence with minor touchups to dial and on Aaron Willard name.
