Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico, Guerrero region, Mezcala culture, ca. 600 to 100 BCE. A hand-carved stone axe god figure of abstract form with string-cut body features and an overall gray hue. The planar figure exhibits delineated legs, waist line, and neck line while deep grooves create the eyes, mouth, and temples. Size: 0.8" L x 1.9" W x 5.5" H (2 cm x 4.8 cm x 14 cm)

Provenance: ex-collection of the late Peter Arnovick, San Francisco, California, USA, acquired before 1995
