Roman, Holy Land, the Levant, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A set of 6 wheel-thrown pottery pitchers, each with a sturdy handle and a flared pouring spout. One bottle exhibits a slender profile while the remaining 5 vessels present with broad piriform bodies. Size of largest: 5.4" W x 7.5" H (13.7 cm x 19 cm)
Provenance: private Bell Buckle, Tennessee, USA collection, by descent, acquired in Tunisia before 1969
