Inscribed "AT / 1824" (identity untraced, probably considerably later than the original creation)carved in shallow relief and engraved with a pair of Indians raising a wine glass together; another seated and drinking from a glass, with a head lying nearby; a soldier firing a gun; a mermaid with a fish; assorted animals and stylized plants; several other faint markings; cow horn with carved spout; the edge serrate, with a tab for suspension, inset wooden butt cap, 12 in. L.
