Description
Egypt, 19th dynasty, ca. 1300 BCE. A carved white scarab, with beetle on face and three cobras on base. The cobra was a very important animal for the Egyptians, being closely tied with royalty and often being found on crowns as the uraeus. 1cm long.
Provenance: Ex-Private Canadian Collection acquired in Cairo in the 1940s.
