Description

Two late 19th century gem-set brooches, to include an amethyst three-stone scrolling foliate brooch, together with a split pearl and enamel stylised bow. Length 5.5 and 6.2cms.

Condition

Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear. Both pins are later replacement. The clasp to one is deficient. The amethyst are well matched, with a light purple of low saturation, typical inclusions can be seen with the naked eye. The split pearls are well matched with silvery discolouration due to age with some showing abrasion and peeling. The enamel is chipped and cracked in places.
