DESCRIPTION: A Pennsylvania Hexagon Beauty hand-pieced quilt. An interesting fabric used for the back makes this a most unusual quilt. Possibly circa 1880. PROVENANCE: Listed in The Cumberland County, PA Quilt Documentation Project. The Quilt Documentation Project, led by The LeTort Quilters Guild in cooperation with the Cumberland County Historical Society documented vintage quilts of Cumberland County. The project gathered information, images, and stories of vintage quilts, quilt makers, and quilt making to preserve history of quilting in the county and culminated with the publication of the book “Quilts of Cumberland County : 1700s to 1970.” MEASUREMENTS: 72" x 81-1/2". CONDITION: Tag from Documentation project on underside of one corner. Toning and old repairs
