American Revolution
(13) Thirteen Bar Colonial / Revolutionary War Era Button
c. 1770s Colonial to Revolutionary War Era, Oval-shaped Colonial Cuff Style Button, Thirteen (13) Horizontal Bars Design, Brass, With Original Shank, Choice Very Fine.
This decorative oval Cuff Button is said to have been located in Connecticut. Its design pattern is very similar to that seen on the copper “USA” Bar Cent, but oval in shape. The shank is still fully intact and the surfaces have a nice, original natural green-brass patina. This should be of interest to both Colonial era numismatists and Revolutionary War Patriotic Button collectors. The first of this wonderful design we have seen. Ex: EAHA August 26, 2000, lot 1310.
