Pre-Columbian, southern Mexico and northern Central America, Mayan Territories, Late Classic period, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A huge, unusually-shaped and well-preserved double-handled pot with a tapered, collared neck and a bulbous body standing on a flat base. The body was once painted dark red with white decoration, which has worn in intriguing ways. Size: 14.5" W x 12.75" H (36.8 cm x 32.4 cm)
