American Revolution
Revolutionary War British Officer's Sword with its Original Leather Scabbard
c. 1770's Revolutionary War Period, British Officer's Sword with Original Leather Scabbard, marked with a small "CROWN" over "GR" (George Rex, King George III), Choice Fine.
This c. 1770's Revolutionary War Period British Officer's Sword has a 27.5" curved single-edged blade marked with a small "CROWN" over "GR" (George Rex, King George III), a small "BROAD ARROW", and "CROWN" over "3" (Inspector's mark). The blade exhibits lots of grinding wheel marks from sharpening. Silver plated brass guard with period replaced pommel from another sword. Its spiral wood grip lacking the twisted wire. Rare original leather scabbard with silver plated brass entry, lacking the metal tip yet retains full leather, measuring 33.25" in overall length. A great looking and seldom encountered British Officer's Sword with its Original Leather Scabbard.
