Hello Irene, We are quite dismayed that you gave us a two star review with no comments and no reason. I personally approved you to bid with no prior history based on the fact that you were local to us in Wilton CT. Our auction is the only one you have been approved for or bid in, and you place nine bids and won two lots which were paid and delivered and we have had no further correspondence from you that I am aware of except for this review which is essentially negative. Under the circumstances it seems that you have acted irresponsibly and without any regard or understanding of how hard we work to do the best we can to accurately represent the estate items we sell and deliver a first rate experience to our buyers. If you are unsatisfied with the two nice Chinese porcelain items you purchased from the Berg estate, then by all means contact us and we will refund your purchase. Another local buyer has left this review, which we feel is more reflective of our character: "Integrity"-Absolutely one of the best auction houses 'the place you want to give your money to, for the quality product. Mr. Schwenke is ACES, as is his staff I've encountered. Substance and integrity are waning, let's face it, EVERYWHERE, but thankfully not here. Hello John, We are very sorry to hear about this. We do our best to select competent shippers and the designated shipper for this auction has been shipping for several auction houses in the general area for many years and we have never before had an issue. While we have to rely on their expertise and judgment, and are not obviously in a position to look over their shoulder on packing practices, it certainly seems like a serious mistake for them to have shipped the lamp without checking the fluid contents, given our catalog note about the kerosene scent. From our side however, it is equally unfortunate that you chose to label us as incompetent based on their mistake, and we wish you would have made contact with us upon receiving the item. We are proud of our record of good customer service and are always prepared to address any issues which arise resulting in a negative buyer experience.
