I won Lot 776 on August 24 which is 8 days ago but Aalders never contacted me or sent the invoice though I emailed Aalders four times. It seems Aalders regrets the auction result or wants to get away.

Aalders promote themselves as "antique and fine art specialists" on their website, but I wonder how that matches with knowingly selling fakes? This sword is a fake made to deceive and when I confronted Aalders about this, the owner Julian said that he knew it was not authentic and thus did not mention any age in the item description. So in other words he considers it acceptable to mislead buyers by omitting such an important fact? He refuses to refund or compensate me in any way so he's just lost a customer of over 10 years. I would advise buyers to avoid Aalders and deal instead with honest auctioneers who describe their items correctly with words such as "archaistic" or "in the style of" to indicate an item is not an antique.

I am newish to auctions, but gee wiz, the ease and difference of dealing with a local entity, is much more betterer than an overseas one. Aalders-is-a local house, and a darn fine job they do too. They're happy to help, easy to talk to and they're costs are reasonable. Excellent work all.

This is the only I auction house I have bid at that actually waited for competing online bids to come in. Others are way too hammer happy and I have missed out on so many purchases.
