Weekly Auctions of Exceptional Items
Mealys Fine Art Ltd is one of Ireland's busiest auction houses, based in Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny. We are known both nationally and internationally and pride ourselves on the delivery of the highest standard of professional service in the valuation and sale of personal property, particularly fine art, antiques and interiors. We also offer advisory services relating to the sale, disposal, or donation of the above. We conduct approximately eight major auctions per year - some at our salerooms in Castlecomer and others at selected locations in Dublin and other cities around Ireland. We have also conducted more sales on the premises of country house estates than any other Irish firm. This third-generation family business was established by the late Mr. George Mealy in 1934, whose name and legacy now lives on 75 years later. Under the management of his son George, the business has grown from strength to strength, now incorporating George Gerard Mealy (his grandson). Country House and Estate sales are traditionally their forte, while regular gallery sales of Fine and Decorative Art are now held Quarterly. These high profile gallery sales include a diverse array of chattels, including Arms & Militaria; Carpets & Rugs; Ceramics & Glass; Clocks, Watches and other TImepieces; Costumes and Textiles; Furniture & Decorative Arts; Modern & Contemprorary Art; Period Paintings and Watercolors; Scientific Instruments, Sculptures & Works of Art; Silver, Jewellery and Miniatures; Taxidermy & Natural History; Toys & Dolls; and Vintage Wine, Spirits and Cigars. We are always happy to advise executors and trustees on the systematic and fair dissolution of chattels in an estate, and to provide probate, insurance and other valuations and advise on the sale, donation or valuation of private collections of any description.
