This review is long overdue... suffice to say, the entire process was flawless and I love the item I purchased.

A great experience, AGOPB put in contact with Junior and he handled everything seamlessly and smoothly for me. I received my fragile plates in excellent shape and well packed.

I bought a painting that would normally have been worth much more at less than half the price from this auction. I immediately wrote to a few auction companies in Europe to sell this painting. The responses I received said that this painting was out of the ordinary and not in line with the artist's style. Thereupon, I contacted the auction company and stated that this product was not approved and that I did not want to buy the painting. The auction company said that this was only possible with documentation and I paid money and get an expert report w notary public that stated that this product did not belong to the artist and sent it. I received message from Action House "I find it disconcerting that you were bidding, and did not have any intention on paying for the painting? You cannot buy at auction, and then try to have the painting authenticated? You will need a more detailed and authorized letter from a qualified authenticating committee to have this sale cancelled. The dispute will remain until the invoice of the painting is paid for" It is my fault for not understanding why a painting that went for a high price in other auctions is going for such a low price in this Action I should have read beforehand that most of those who gave the auction house 1 star were complaining about the paintings from this Action House Please be careful with the paintings you buy from this auction house.

AGOPB never responded to five emails and two phone calls from me. There was literally no communication from them whatsoever. They are utterly unhelpful on shipping, too.

The picture of the pepper shaker was the best of the bunch.

My piece of pottery had a small bit of damage. It was photographed and I saw it before bidding. I was contacted because they wanted to be sure that I knew about this flaw before shipping. I really appreciate their concern. Thank you

I specifically asked auction house if there was a chip to the toe of figure as it appeared so in the photo. I was informed that there was no damage. I should have trusted my instincts as there was indeed a chip to the toe of the figure.

The item auctioned was NOT authentic, when I emailed questioning authenticity prior to bidding I did not receive a response. Communication with Auction was rude and unprofessional, lack of customer service etiquette. I wasted my time and shipping costs due to the lack of due diligence by the auction. Please check authenticity of your items before putting them on auction. If replica please state so and let the buyer decide.

I recently won a painting from AGOPB. The auction pictures showed a single crack in the frame that I planned to have fixed by my restorer. After the auction, AGOPB dropped off the painting at one of its preferred shippers. The shipper called me prior to shipping and said the frame was in much worse shape than the website pictures. He sent me pictures prior to shipment showing cracks/breaks on three sides of the frame-not the single crack mentioned by the auction house. I followed up with AGOPB and they said that the frame had one hairline crack and other than that, the frame was in perfect shape. They asked for pictures and those pictures were sent a few days later. No response was received. I followed up a week later and still didn't receive a response. After a third message and 3 + weeks, AGOPB responded saying that the frame was sold "as is". That obviously didn't answer the question. Bottom line: the pictures on the website didn't accurately depict damage to the frame. When pictures were sent to the AGOPB showing that damage prior to shipment, they only responded after three follow up messages to say that the frame was sold as is. Not an honest answer to their deceptive pictures.

Without the weight of such heavy items, shippers cannot determine an accurate estimated shipping cost. I selected a shipper I have used in the past, stating once he picks up the item and he needs to add cost due to extra packing protection and double boxing, to do so. There are only 8 of these sculptures in the world. Junior at JR Boxes did a good job, but his original quote was doubled in the end through no fault of his own. (I have had several sculptures damaged last year in shipment, so I am concerned about the lack of details to ensure accurate shipping quotes.

I was very pleased with the service I received from AGOPB. The quality of the lot I won (nineteenth century oil painting) was exactly as described on the Liveauctioneers website. The shipper that we used (Pakmail # 703) did an outstanding job of packing the painting and we received it as promised with no damage.

It requires two stops to get all your items which is tough when you are paying a shipper! Wish they were a bit more accommodating.
