Smooth transaction

This auction house was about the least professional of any that I have dealt with. VERY rude and not very helpful. They called my store and yelled at my employee and demanded immediate payment, even though there was still 4 days in their 7 days after the auction for payment window. I would be ashamed to have them representing me and my business if I were LiveAuctioneers. I could say more, but this should be enough. It was NOT a satisfactory experience.

before the auction, I asked the auction house to confirm the framed landscape be an actual painting NOT a print. the assured that was actual painting. sadly that, when i got the landscape and investigated under a magnifying glass, I could see The images were made up with colorful dots. This is a PRINT. I emailed them and requested a full refund. I am waiting for their response.

The item I was interested in purchasing was located at the Auction House Warehouse. JULES Friday took me to view the item and was very helpful with all of my questions. The owner of the Auction House assisted me to become eligible to bid. It was a good experience and I will definitely purchase from them again.

Auctioneer even met me and delivered one of my purchases nicely packed.

I'm not comfortable with the bidding process as the item had 16 bids with 1 bidder listed..... so I don't understand how that could be possible...... when you can't hear or see an auction it makes one skeptical about the legitimacy of the bidding...

The Auction House and their suggested shipper did a great job. It was the handling, and ineffeciency in France which caused delays!

The auction house was terrific. The shipper not so much. This should not count against the auction house. They were great!

The shipping was over priced. I received a quote from my personal shipper and found it was almost half the cost.

There is no communication with this Auctioneer. They are able only to send invoices. The shipping is a nightmare. Only 2 options and I received answers after days and pressure from the auctioneer to decide the carrier. I will never buy again from this auctioner.

I was very disappointed to find pieces missing from a portfolio after paying for it. I was given a refund promptly after I said I would file a dispute with my credit card company. However the time and energy waisted going to the auction house left me wondering about dealing with them again. No apologies or explanation until I got a notice from Liveauctioneers to remove the sale. I was told it was a cataloger mistake.

I received my item with a bent frame. Brian got on the phone and was disagreeable and unhelpful. I own a business on the 1stdibs floor at NYDC and have been buying and selling art and antiques since 1988. This is a fly by night business and you should vet your partners with more scrutiny. I bend over backwards on a deal to make this right for my clients. They could care less.

I was an online bidder. I bought 2 lots with a lot of small pieces of pottery. A couple more photos would have been very helpful, There was 14 or 15 pieces in each lot, very little information about condition or marks and only 2 photos of each lot. Bidding was a bit of a gamble so I didn't bid as high as I might have if there had been more photos showing all the pieces clearly.

The piece of art i bid on was miss labeled regarding title. I used a local USPS company for shipping, they did not give me a quote before packing it, and it cost me $300 to the item!

The lot I won was poorly described. No weights or measurements were provided. They recommended three shippers. I got quotes from all three. One was $61, one was $63 and one was $130. I went with the middle quote. Two weeks later they finally got back to me and said the shipping was $188, TRIPLE their own quote. No good explanation or apology was offered. I told them to take it back to the auction house. I am still waiting for that to happen. This all smells fishy; is the auction house taking a kickback on excessive shipping? This whole experience leaves me with a bad feeling. I have yet to receive the items and have no confidence in the shipping process. I doubt I will deal with this auction house again. PS any auction house that does not do their own shipping is providing a poor service to clients.

Excessively high shipping rates charged by their preferred vendors.

Everything was as expected. Perfect.

Shipping was rather pricey. Maybe they should look for alternative shippers.
