Art of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas
Wright is proud to present Art of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas on April 8th, a thoughtfully curated sale bringing together a remarkable range of traditional sculpture, masks, ceremonial objects, and cultural artifacts. Spanning continents and generations, these pieces reflect the distinct histories, belief systems, and aesthetic traditions of the cultures from which they originate. From the expressive power of African figural sculpture to the refined carving traditions of Oceania and the deeply symbolic artistry of the Indigenous Americas, the objects presented in this sale offer a compelling exploration of human creativity across continents and centuries. Highlights of the auction include an exceptional trio of African masterpieces: a Kwele (Bakwele) heart-shaped dance mask of elegant form and rhythmic abstraction; a striking Kota mbulu ngulu reliquary guardian figure with luminous metal-clad surfaces; and a rare and historically significant pair of Fang shoulder masks exhibited at The Museum of Primitive Art in 1969. These are presented alongside a broader selection of notable African sculpture and masks, as well as fine Mesoamerican pottery, objects from Papua New Guinea, and Native American works that round out this impressive offering.Machine Age Design 1925-1950

Furniture As Described and Arrived in good shape
Wright Auction is amazing and they offer really good examples. The LiveAuctioneers shipping was a bit slow and but fine although I don't really like the use of peanuts for packing because they create a big mess and hassle. Perhaps air pillows would be a lot nicer for the environment and easier to manage.
