Great customer service!
Very happy with Rivich. Often with national auction platforms the post auction service (payment & shipping) isn't very smooth. Rivich went out of their way, being proactive with followup to ensure my items got to me quickly and efficiently. Ill make sure to look at every Rivichauction in the future.

Extremely Disappointed – Hidden Fees and Poor/Rude Communication
We are a professional buyer that participates in large-volume auctions nationwide, and our experience with this auction house was incredibly disappointing. Despite being in constant contact with the staff, and having confirmed our pickup schedule multiple times, we were blindsided with $900 + (this was their discount) in holding fees for just two pieces of furniture (a dresser and wardrobe) and two small items. At no point during our conversations to coordinate pick-up were these fees mentioned. We faced a string of unforeseen emergencies, including a vehicle breakdown and a major abdominal surgery — all of which were communicated proactively and honestly. The team appeared understanding, never warning us of any impending charges. Had we been informed, we would have immediately tried coordinate with one of our freight partners to avoid this situation. The lack of transparency and absence of professional courtesy in this case were unacceptable. We were trying to work with them in good faith, and they took advantage of the situation instead. We do not recommend this auction house. If you are a serious buyer or small business, beware: unforeseen fees of these size are enough to put a small business out of business.

Heather, Following your purchase in May, our team made consistent efforts to reach out regarding pickup arrangements, but unfortunately, we were unable to get in touch with you directly. A pickup time was eventually scheduled with your husband for July 22nd, but that appointment was canceled, and communication subsequently dropped off. While we fully understand that unexpected life events can arise, the challenge in this case was that we were not informed of any delays until after the missed appointment — and several weeks had passed. The initial pickup email was sent on May 26, with follow-up emails sent on June 17, June 25, July 7, July 22, and July 29. The last two included information about holding fees after discussing them with your husband by phone. All of these emails went unanswered. When your husband arrived for pickup, our team assisted with loading the items-a courtesy we typically do not offer, but extended to make the process easier. Following that, he requested a reduction of the holding fees, asking to have them cut in half before making payment. He agreed to holding fees and acknowledged he was made aware of them prior. There was nothing unexpected about this aside from him attempting to bargain with a team member. To hear that you were “unaware” of the holding fees is disappointing, as our team made every effort to communicate this clearly and proactively. The fees that were ultimately charged were already discounted. If you would like to know the exact total based on our standard rates, we encourage you to calculate from the original pickup date. Our Terms & Conditions clearly state that holding fees apply when items are left unclaimed, and we would never apply such charges without basis or notice. While we always strive to maintain respectful and positive relationships with our clients, we must also uphold our policies consistently and fairly. Choosing not to respond to phone calls or emails does not exempt you from standard protocol.

They are very honest and helpful.
They have Michael who handles shipping. He gave me an estimate before the sale for the cost to ship to me and a condition statement he volunteered and both were good and correct. So I am pleased with my purchase!!!

Very rude staff... avoid these people they are many more nicer auction houses in Chicago!
They got upset about the fact that we were talking to a customer too loud then after the gave us the authorization to move a few items away from the piano in order to make some space they also got upset then the owner told us that they would just refund us (it seems to us that it was a tactic from seller's remorse) we refused to cancel the purchase! they told us to leave the property and we refused to leave without our pianos paid for,. they finally called the police on us!!! The police told us to take the piano and leave.... We buy pianos every week on liveauctioneer and it is the very 1st time we encounter this kind of situation but after reviewing these people on google we could not help to notice that we were not the only once that were treated this way...

Unhappy with packing
Poorly packed pottery too much in one box no buffer around items lost the piece I was really wanting. Poor packing for an auction house.

Lots of miscellaneous charges
Description mentioned head on one of the decoys is loose. This implies at least two decoys for sale. 3rd and 4th pics poor light and I thought of second decoy. So I bid higher than I would have with one decoy in the lot. Add buyer’s premium, sales tax, convenience fee and high shipping, my $425 single decoy costs to get to me turned out to be $705. Ouch!!!

Surpassed expectations!
Very happy with the merchandise won from Rivich Auction. The pillows were modern classy and great quality. Brutalist table was perfect for my space. Some wear but patina too. Very satisfied.
