Central Mass Auctions is a wonderful alternative to those well-known auction houses that folks tend to gravitate towards. Recently, CMA conducted a large auction of Civil War memorabilia, and as I looked over the various lots-well, to say that I was impressed would be a huge understatement! I was amazed at not only the variety and quantity of items offered, but the quality was top-notch. Wayne and his team put together a fantastic auction containing over 1200 lots. As the winning bidder of two lots of Civil War era postal covers, I consider myself very blessed to own over 70 envelopes which capture the spirit of the conflict. Each was colorful and in excellent condition considering that they were over 160 years old! CMA is a gem of an auction house that deserves to be on anyone's list of sources if you are in the market for quality antiques!

This was a great auction, photos and descriptions were all right on. I bid on many items but they all went very high and I only ended up getting a single item. They do not offer in-house shipping, a big negative in my experience. The third party shipper charged about $50 to ship a small, light, $30 item. It was shipped in a plastic bag. Won't be buying again because of the rip-off shipping cost. also took several weeks to get it but the cost was my main concern rather than the time.

The auction house was great, and the customer service was the best … only shipping (The Shipping Depot +) was horrible … and they had nothing to do with the auction house … their fees are through the roof, and after I needed only a copy of the invoice for my books … that took about 5 days over 10 emails and getting involved customer services from the auction … and Amy helped me at the end … Thank you, Amy, for your help
