My first time buying at CMA. I have been involved with collecting for over 60 years. Honest cordial people. One suggestion to call for pick-up instructions as they have changed from the web posting.

I'm very happy with my item I won from them, and very happy with how the staff answered my questions. But I was not pleased with the shipping. They called me on the Monday after the auction ended the previous Thursday to tell me I needed to send a wire right away. I did so. They then sent me an email on Wednesday asking what shipping service I would like. I requested Fedex's slowest and cheapest overnight service. This auction house doesn't carry their own insurance policy, so they purchase insurance through the carrier. They then sent me a shipping invoice of $243.66. I used Fedex's website to see how much that service with $14750 insurance would cost and it came to $89. I thought about fighting the excessive markup, but just decided to pay it. Then my item didn't ship for 7 days, and when it did, they told me it was Fedex 2 day. Then, when the item arrived, it was not signature required and the package sat on my front porch for 3 hours until I could get home. Not sure what they ended up actually paying for shipping, but it was probably less than 25 % of what they charged me. I get that they would need to add a handling charge to cover the labor of the person doing the shipping, but my win was a small item and wouldn't have taken more than a few minutes to package up.

I've been very happy with the items I've purchased through Central Mass Auctions, and their customer service has been friendly and helpful. They make pick-up easy and are very pleasant to work with.

YES, This one of the best auction houses around my area. I have met the auctioneer personally and really enjoy the wares he offers. He's very knowledgeable of what he sells and happily answers any question that may come up. Great communication and very easy pick up. Indeed, one of my favorite auctioneers.
