Thank you for responding. We attempted multiple times to reach out to you regarding your issues and didn't hear back from you. We are sorry that you feel we do not care about customer service, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. We care very deeply about every customer and the items they purchase. Firstly, you mention the item total was only a fraction of the shipping cost. Please, please remember purchase price is only a small factor in determining the cost of shipping. One cannot buy a 24 "marble bust for $50 and expect the shipping to be that or less. Destination, packing, and insurance play an integral role in the final cost. ANYONE is more than able to contact us for a packing and shipping quote. You may also find a shipper of your choice or pick up the item. We simply offer in-house shipping as a first option. In regards to the fees, all are plainly posted. We assume you mean credit card processing fees and taxes, none are secrative or hidden. Unless you have a tax number on file with Live Auctioneers, tax will be charged. Please take those fees into consideration when figuring your bid. In regards to the shade, we reached out to you and did not hear back. We are more than willing to accept a return on something that was not as represented. We examined all of the photos posted online as well as photos not posted and found no damage. We make no qualms about describing any issue or damage to a piece that may affect the value, it does not benefit us in any way to do so. As for packing, we want your items to arrive in the state as they left us. It does not benefit us or the buyer to pack fragile items in a manner that is less than appropriate, to ensure safe arrival and only hoping that it will arrive in good shape. Many people don't realize any box must withstand a drop off of a conveyor belt of 10 ft. If not, it was not packed properly. We had hoped to continue to work something out with you, but did not hear back at our last attempt.

Thank you for your feedback. While you may be deeply disappointed in how much the shipping cost is, you can easily remedy that by asking for a shipping quote in advance. At least you have your items in one piece and can enjoy them. You are correct! we do pack well and use lots of packing materials. We want to ensure every piece arrives just how it left us. Apparently you have not experienced enough breakage from poor packing and lack of packing materials to understand. Well we have received our fair share. Nothing more heart breaking than to see a beautiful 100 year old item shattered in a million fragments only because someone did not pack it properly or have a simple clue as to how to ship something that is easily broken. How truly, if you want to talk about DISAPPOINTING, that is! You are correct. We DO NOT use bio-degradable peanuts! Try putting some in a glass of water or putting them under a lot of weight. You will find they dissolve if they get wet and under any amount of weight, they compress to the thickness of a piece of paper. Please remember, when we say we are not Amazon, that means we ship fragile and easily damaged items. A curling iron or pair of shoes are something of a different breed from the generally over 100 year old items we sell. This all being said, we have one chance to ship this item to you and get it right so it doesn't break. ONE CHANCE! Not done properly, well, let's just say you won't be happy with a pitcher in two pieces now would you? And whgo would you call to blame? By the way, if you are concerned about bio-degradable peanuts, why would you throw away the peanuts rather than re-use them or give them to a shipping center that would be more than welcome to receive them and also recycle the cardboard rather than try to fit it in your trash container?

Thank you for your feedback. We are not sure what additional fees you are talking about? Other than an industry standard credit card processing fee, or sales tax, which is applicable unless you have a vendors license, there are no "additional costs." Unfortunately packing materials, labor, and shipping of fragile items do facilitate a cost and are not free. You are however, always and most welcome to inquire as to a shipping quote prior to placing a bid.

We are sorry for your displeasure of our packing. We pack to the regulations of FedEx with 2 inches around each side of item, if we didn’t there is a high possibility the items would not get to you in one piece. All items are wrapped in paper and bubble wrap, then hard packed with packing paper around the item so it stays put-not bouncing around the box, like so many items we ourselves have received. Oh, how sad it is when you buy an item over 100 years old thrown in a box and shattered to bits, not at Magnum! That is why we take immense pride in packing our lovely items. For the tape, we only use a minimum amount to hold the bubble around the item. If you do not want to have us pack the item, you may always pickup the item. Thank you for your time.

Hello. Thank you for your review. We personally spoke with you regarding the shipping of these delicate and excessively fragile candlesticks. Why, we are merely 2 hours from you. You could have picked them up. We always offer pick up of items purchased. We even offered to meet you half way since we are frequently in the area doing pick ups. All we heard from you is the pick up was out of your circle of travel and no mention when we offered to meet you. If sir, you are concerned about the cost to ship fragile and paper thin glass 12 "tall pieces of glass, perhaps a collectible in plastic, rubber, or baseball cards, may be just what you need to pursue. We ship thousands of boxes per year worldwide and have very particular standards to which we pack. We will NOT vary from that ultimatemately endangering the safety of the antiques we sell just to try to save a nickel.
