pocket watch
There was quite a bit of trouble with the payment, but it arrived safely. Upon receiving the pocket watch, I noticed a few details that were not discernible from the photos or mentioned in the description.

Great Customer Service
I hope I can buy again from Magnum Auctions! I wrote to them before the auction began with a question about shipping, and twice after the auction, to clarify my shipping choice and payment. Every time I received a timely, professional, helpful, and friendly response. Yesterday I received the two items I purchased, which were quite large pieces of almost 100 year old glass. Magnum's packaging was absolutely bulletproof. I have bought many pieces of glass over the years, and shipped many pieces. The pieces Magnum shipped to me were wrapped in tissue paper, then wrapping paper, then bubble wrap, and then placed in packing peanuts to absorb shocks and then paper so the wrapped pieces would not shift toward the edge of the box. Then that entire box was placed inside another box and the peanut/paper packing repeated. This is the absolutely best way to ship anything fragile, and this kind of packing takes money and time, to have the right packaging and to pack the right way. The pieces I ordered were in beautiful condition and I am going to enjoy them for many years to come. My experience gives me complete confidence in Magnum Auctions, and as I said, I certainly hope to buy from them again!

Question of Attriburion
Though I am sure that Magnum Auctions operated in good faith, their attribution of this bowl to Thomas Webb Glass Works is questionable. Upon examining this piece after its arrival, I found it to have a thin and inferior acid cut, well below the quality of Webb. The bowl has characteristics more strongly matching Bohemian or French qualities.

Very Expensive Shipping
Magnum provides their own in-house shipping but its horribly expensive. I would highly suggest using a 3rd party shipping company with them.

Five star experience
I usually don't leave reviews, but because working with John from Magnum Auctions was such a pleasant experience, I feel compelled to let others know. This was five stars all the way; I recommend this auction house to anyone who appreciates a seamless experience. I also enjoyed the humor of Mother Magnum. Next time I'll try their newly launched bidding platform. And yes John-I love the faces!

Shipping using recommend outside company
If the auction house does not provide shipping, I would not buy from them. I’ve had some bad experiences with the shipping companies that are used by the different auction houses/recommended.

Hello, We are sorry it seems you had a bad experience with the shipper you chose to have pack your item. We always recommend using our in-house shipping services. However, if the customer requests an outside source, we cannot guarantee the quality of packing since we are not the ones packing the item. Due to the small town our auction house resides, there are not many options for outside packers which is why it is up to the discretion of the bidder to decide if they want to risk using an outside source other than our in-house packing and shipping service. In the future, please use our in-house shipping option as we are very experienced in packing and shipping the items we sell. Thank you!

Beware of descriptions!
I requested a condition report and was told the item was in excellent condition, but it had a replaced stopper, they feel this does not matter but in glass it does indeed.

There are cheaper shipping options out there.
The shipping on the three boxes I received was very expensive. Over $450. I could have shipped the same merchandise via USPS for $240. But magnum chose to use Fedex. I could have drove from Florida to Ohio and back for far less money than what they charged for shipping,. For this reason I will never buy from Magnum actions.
