We are very sorry about your displeasure with our auction. We do our absolute best to make sure that the items are packed as they should and make it to the customers in one piece. The cost which you are mentioning is for shipping through FedEx, materials (boxes, peanuts, paper, etc.), and labor. We would have been very happy to discuss this with you, since it seems that you had questions. As mentioned in our policies, just because you buy something for cheap, does not mean that the shipping will be equally as cheap. For example, if I were to buy a 5ft marble sculpture for $15 it does not mean that shipping will be that. Unfortunately, prices all over the country have increased significantly, FedEx rates and packing materials are no exception. We do our best and simply just pass on the cost of these at cost, but unfortunately, we cannot compete with Amazon and EBay which offer Free Shipping. Again, we are very sorry for your displeasure, and in the future if you do decide to bid from us again, know that we offer Free of Charge shipping estimates. Hello. We appreciate your feedback. We are quite knowledgeable. Thank you. In reference to your feedback, you mention the lack of showing adequate photos detailing various areas. Upon checking our emails for condition reports and questions, we have found NO emails from you requesting additional photos or details. We provided 14 clear photos showing nearly every aspect of the piece. Our auctions are listed in plenty advance of the sale date so there was ample time to reach out to us for any additional information you would require to which we would have gladly provided to you. There was no intent, nor is there ever, to be misleading about the description of this, or any item we sell. We are very sorry you were disappointed. Ultimately, however, it was sold as presented. It is unfortunate you feel the need to personally attack our knowledge and our integrity. At the end of the day, the opportunity was left at your disposal to reach out to us. To ask questions. We were a little shocked to have you make the statement that we require all customers to use our in house packing service. That is not a true statement. You can contact any shipper of your choice to pick up and pack your items. We offer our own expert in house shipping for the convenience of the buyer but under no circumstances do we demand they use our expert services. We also offer pick up on designated days following the conclusion of the auction so that is another option for you. All fees that are charged through the auction process are completely transparent. Completely. Please remember as with any service, there are charges. Nothing here is hidden. Isn't it convenient to sit in the comfort of your home and buy an antique something, pay for it, and have it delivered right to your front door. No need to leave the house. Larry, Sorry to hear you were disappointed. Yes, Live auctioneers handles the payment processing system. With each state charging sales tax, it is exceptionally time consuming and challenging to report taxes for each state. They handle that. As far as the lamp, it is imperative, with any purchase, from any auction to ask questions and ask for additional photos to make sure this is absolutely what you desire. We provide many photos unlike a number of other auction houses. If still in question, send us an email or give us a call. We would love to hear from you. We are always more than willing to help our buyers out. All of the items you critiques could have easily been answered had you reached out to us. Without phone calls or emails, we have no idea. Judy, Thank you for the compliments on the good job in packing! We intend for each and every piece to arrive safely. You said we are too costly. Keep in mind fees such as Buyer's premium are completely transparent before the auction. Ours is among the lowest if you look on line and even lower if you contact us for absentee bids. We hide nothing so, you may want to bid accordingly! Credit card processing fee is standard. We do not receive any portion of that either. Sales tax? Yep we all have to pay it. Unless you have a tax exempt number registered with Live Auctioneers which is very easy to do! Shipping costs continue to rise as well as a 15 % increase in packing materials and everything else in this economy. We make no money on the shipping costs and pass any savings on we can! Keep in mind also you purchased items totaling close to 1400.00. That $64.00 dollar charge is for Boxes, Packing Materials, Labor, the Shipping cost and INSURANCE. We sorry to hear your perception of the cut velvet toothpick holder. As with any auction, please ask as many questions as you would like to. They are FREE! In regards to the other toothpick holder you had purchased previously from one of our auctions, this is the first we have heard about this. Give us a call anytime!
