For over 50 years, Michael Ibey has been a major force within the art and framing industry. Inspired by his family's art business, he began designing and building one-of-a-kind frames as a teenager. Since then, he has built a thriving career doing framing designs, art commissioning, buying and publishing for Michael's Gallery.
Early in his career, Michael was a pioneer in the framing and printing world. Michael had major success selling art and framing throughout the United States.
In the 80's, Michael's gallery commissioned extraordinary painter Robert Lyn Nelson, who is celebrated for his marine paintings and "Two Worlds" style, to paint his first, widely successful diptych called Hanalei Nani. With this diptych, Michael created a new form of printing referred to as "mixed media serigraph"; this technique blends serigraphy colors to a lithograph.
Since the late 90's, Michael has been acquiring an eclectic array of works by acclaimed artists such as Kimm Byers, RC Gorman, Eyvind Earle, Jorn Fox, John Genis, Hans Skalagard, Breck Rothage, Maria, Aldo Luongo, Barbara Owens, Orlando Agudelo-Botero, Itzchak Tarkay and more. His collections are sought after and sold to auctioneers, cruise lines, retail galleries and private collectors.

Today, Michael is the owner of Michael's Gallery in Costa Mesa, CA where he is helping clients find unique art from his eclectic collection to enhance and add expression to their businesses and homes.

Smooth quick, easy purchasing
This is not my first purchase from Michael’s Gallery. I find they have a huge selection and move swiftly during their auctions. It’s very easy to communicate with the gallery. The prices are always reasonable. They offer framing for pieces that are not already framed. They have a huge selection and give excellent artistic advice. shipping and delivery are quicker than the other auction houses. I recommend Michael’s gallery to anyone who enjoys art and is considering purchase or even a wonderful visual experience.

Needle in a Haystack
I first discovered this artist in Paris almost 30 years ago. I regrettably passed on purchasing one of his pieces at the gallery showing his work. Since then, I have been looking, without any success, for anything by the artist. I was thrilled when I got notification that one of his pieces was coming up at auction at Michael’s Gallery. I was successful, and the painting now hangs prominently in my home. From notification that the piece was coming up at auction until delivered to me, the process was perfect. Michael’s Gallery was a delight to work with and I am sure that I will do business with them again soon. Sam

Amazing Experience!

Responsive, eclectic, fun gallery to explore art with
Last year, I purchased art from various auctions. A few months later, Michael contacted me. He found out what I like and sent me pictures. He is a master salesperson, never pushy. He has the creativity of a great artist and helps people connect with art. Prices are always reasonable and the framing at his gallery is “right on”. The auctions move quickly. If you like or want something click the heart or place a bid before the start to get a notification. Michael LOVES art and genuinely wants you to enjoy it too. Payment, packaging and shipment are also very efficient and your art will arrive soon in perfect shape for you to hang and enjoy.
