For over 50 years, Michael Ibey has been a major force within the art and framing industry. Inspired by his family's art business, he began designing and building one-of-a-kind frames as a teenager. Since then, he has built a thriving career doing framing designs, art commissioning, buying and publishing for Michael's Gallery.
Early in his career, Michael was a pioneer in the framing and printing world. Michael had major success selling art and framing throughout the United States.

In the 80's, Michael's gallery commissioned extraordinary painter Robert Lyn Nelson, who is celebrated for his marine paintings and "Two Worlds" style, to paint his first, widely successful diptych called Hanalei Nani. With this diptych, Michael created a new form of printing referred to as "mixed media serigraph"; this technique blends serigraphy colors to a lithograph.

Since the late 90's, Michael has been acquiring an eclectic array of works by acclaimed artists such as Kimm Byers, RC Gorman, Eyvind Earle, Jorn Fox, John Genis, Hans Skalagard, Breck Rothage, Maria, Aldo Luongo, Barbara Owens, Orlando Agudelo-Botero, Itzchak Tarkay and more. His collections are sought after and sold to auctioneers, cruise lines, retail galleries and private collectors.

An influencer to his core, Michael has been a leader in shaping the industry over the years with his innovative approach! Today, Michael is the owner of Michael's Gallery in Costa Mesa, CA where he is helping clients find unique art from his eclectic collection to enhance and add expression to their businesses and homes.
