not sterling as listed. This would be obvious even to novice when held in hand. never returned due to was not worth hassle

This auction house is on a very short list of houses where I didn't feel gouged by the shipping.

Items were as advertised. I had to contact the auction house at least a week after to inquire about shipping. Items were then shipped quickly but some arrived broken. Contacted auction house several times to get a response. Communication is slow and issue not yet resolved.

This was my first time participating in an auction held by Barton & Company, and it was a positive experience from start to finish. The LiveAuctioneers shipping quote was quite high, so I was delighted when Cori offered to pack and ship this chess set for a very reasonable rate. The detail of the chess pieces is extraordinary, and the storage case with its perfectly sized spaces for each piece serves as the playing board when turned over. Cori packed everything carefully, and the set arrived in fine condition. I look forward to participating in future auctions by Barton & Company!

Barton & Co. has the best items and follow up is professional and lovely in every way.

They never shipped the item, after many emails. At least they should consider a refund. I'm sure they will have their excuse, but there is no excuse, either ship the item paid for, or refund. Neither happened.

Barton & Co. is one of my favorite sellers and I always follow their sales. Cori has an excellent eye for antiques and art, and has a good enough reputation that she also is entrusted to sell a lot of high-end furniture and other items from known retailers. There always is a combination of fun, eclectic pieces and coveted brand names. What Good descriptions, and quick response if you need more information. Service is dependable; the one and only time there was an issue with a sale she took care of it right away. I've never gone wrong buying from them or selling with them.

I was so excited to have the opportunity to bid on some highly sought after ironstone cake stands. Everything went smoothly after winning the auction, and my items were shipped and arrived very well packaged. Barton & Co. did an amazing job!

This is a private workshop, very unprofessional and irresponsible. Before the auction, I asked about the packaging and freight, and Barton & co. told me it was US $500. After purchasing the goods, he would be charged US $1, 000 for only transporting 2/3 of the goods. I had no choice but to accept his price increase. However, even though the shipping cost more than doubled, he still used cheap second-hand materials, coupled with very irresponsible packaging techniques, resulting in both items being broken. Communicated with him about compensation and did not reply at all. I also suspected that he deliberately concealed the condition of the lot. In his description, it was very good, but the goods received were glued together. For antiques, this is the difference between heaven and earth. So this is an auction company that is completely untrustworthy. I have asked Liveauctioneers to step in and resolve the issue. If there is still no result, I will definitely take it to court.

Upon arrival to pick up my 4 items, 2 were not there and no one knew I was coming. One item apparently got shipped out of state with the original owner’s other things. The other item was with the auctioneer. She said she would mail it to me. She apologized and said she had not seen my email that I was coming to pick up my items. Then she apologized for the other item not being there and said she ‘ … lost sleep over it.. ’ after searching the house all night for the item and blamed the owners. Which I was confused about because she said she didn’t know I was coming … I received the 2nd missing item about 6 weeks after purchase because it apparently got thrown away. Again blamed on the original owner. Then it suddenly it appeared and was mailed to me. Lots of discrepancies in the stories. And I was very disappointed on not receiving the first item I won that while I was refunded for it, was the one item I was there for initially.

This was an amazing auction experience start to finish. Such interesting items, beautifully photographed. I had questions about some lots which Cori answered very promptly. Packing of my item was outstanding, which meant a lot as it was a gift. Both Cori and Katie were a complete pleasure to deal with. Happy to follow and purchase again. Thank you Barton & Co!

This auction house went above and beyond to answer my questions and ensure that the bidding and buying process was a positive experience. I love my items and will definitely be purchasing from them again in the future. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to keep following their sales.

The Barton/LiveAuctioneers system worked really well for us, after many months of watching the regular emails on items matching our search pattern, a collection of important works by that artist/maker came up, so I placed a bid corresponding to what I could reasonably afford to spend for it but fully expected to be outbid, and on auction day I won which came as a complete surprise. The shipping went very well, and now we are thrilled to be enjoying theses pieces we would not have known of or had any chance to own, but for this system.

I bought thirteen pieces of jewelry from this auction company, and when I received the goods, I found that two were missing, and another one was crushed. I was very angry and got in touch with the auction company. The auction company told me that one item is still in their company, and they don't know where the other one is? And the crushed one doesn't say anything. First of all, I asked the other party to send me the remaining one, but I haven't replied yet. How can such an auction company do business in the future? It's too bad.

I will definitely use Barton & Co. again. I appreciated their quick response to my questions and they packed and delivered all items very quickly. I was very happy with them!
